Indigo Children by *HiddenCaitastrophe:iconHiddenCaitastrophe:

What Are Indigo Adults, Indigo Children & Crystal Children?

Indigos are those of us who tend to have a deeper spiritual connection to the Universe. They tend to be very intelligent and energetic. There are actually several different types of Indigos (Artistic, Conceptualist, Humanist & Interdimensional) so we all express ourselves a bit differently.  Still, we almost all feel very lost and confused in this world, and greatly desire to make it a better place. Many have spiritual or psychic gifts and have memories of past lives. These gifts aren’t always immediately apparent (some feel that they are yet to be ‘awakened’) but the main characteristics are still the same.

Although we are just realizing the pattern and purpose for Indigos, there are records of them being born as early as 1700. Until recently, there have only been a few born each generation. There seems to have been a jump in the Indigo population during the late 70's and early 80's (my generation). We are the for-runners for the next shift in human evolution.

It seems as the year 2000 hit, there was another shift in the birthing of Indigos. Along with Indigo children being born, during or after the year 2000, Crystal Children and Rainbow children have been added. These children have a much deeper gifts and even more distinct memories of other lifetimes, Universes, and dimensions. We can learn a lot from them. Again, they have been very rare throughout history and many adult Indigos are transitioning into Crystals at this time.

The term "Indigo" describes the dark purple and blue colors of our Soul Auras. Highlights of violet, green, gold and white are also apparent. Crystal and Rainbow children are also named for their Aura. Typically, it seems, Crystal and Rainbow children are being born to Indigo parents.

At this point, our best guess is on percentages is that Indigos make up approximately 15-25% of 20-30 year olds, 10-15% of 30-40 yr olds, 5-10% of 40-50 yr olds and 0-5% prior to that time. It's estimated that up to 80% of the births worldwide today are Indigo / Crystal / Rainbow children!

Unfortunately, many Indigos are being misdiagnosed and being medicated for ADD, ADHD, Bi-Polar and even, though rare, Autism. When Indigo children are subject to these medications and limits, it cuts them off from their gifts and can numb their spirit.

Therefore it is so important for these children to be supported and understood at home. It will take time for the education environment to change to accommodate and nurture these children. Without the support and understanding at home, Indigo children find their world harsh and extremely lonely. They cannot rejoice in who they are, but have to suppress their true brilliance in order for them to be accepted by their family, friends and society.

It is thought that Indigos are here to introduce us to a new era where we actively incorporate the spirit into our daily existence. They learn differently, think differently and function differently, but by no means does this mean they are dysfunctional or disordered. We are here to change the way things are done! Create new ideas on how to run businesses, to run government, to handle relationships, to care for the world, to understand education and the arts.

Other Indigo Characteristics

(Note, while many people may have these characteristics, most Indigos experience most or all of these.)

* Are intelligent, though may not have had top grades.

* Are very creative and enjoy making things.

* Always need to know WHY, especially why they are being asked to do something.

* Had disgust and perhaps loathing for much of the required and repetitious work in school.

* Were rebellious in school in that they refused to do homework and rejected authority of teachers, OR seriously wanted to rebel, but didn't DARE, usually due to parental pressure.

* May have experienced early existential depression and feelings of helplessness. These may have ranged from sadness to utter despair. Suicidal feelings while still in high school or younger are not uncommon in the Indigo Adult.

* Have difficulty in service-oriented jobs. Indigos resist authority and caste system of employment.

* Prefer leadership positions or working alone to team positions.

* Have deep empathy for others, yet an intolerance of stupidity.

* May be extremely emotionally sensitive including crying at the drop of a hat (no shielding) or may be the opposite and show no expression of emotion (full shielding).

* May have trouble with RAGE.

* Have trouble with systems they consider broken or ineffective, i.e. political, educational, medical, and legal.

* Alienation from or anger with politics - feeling your voice won't count and/or that the outcome really doesn't matter.

* Frustration with or rejection of the traditional American dream - 9-5 career, marriage, 2.5 children, house with white picket fence, etc.

* Anger at rights being taken away, fear and/or fury at "Big Brother watching you."

* Have a burning desire to do something to change and improve the world. May be stymied what to do. May have trouble identifying their path.

* Have psychic or spiritual interest appear fairly young - in or before teen years.

* Had few if any Indigo role models. Having had some doesn't mean you're not an Indigo, though.

* Have strong intuition.

* Random behavior pattern or mind style - (symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder). May have trouble focusing on assigned tasks, may jump around in conversations.

* Have had psychic experiences, such as premonitions, seeing angels or ghosts, out of body experiences, hearing voices.

* May be electrically sensitive such as watches not working and street lights going out as you move under them, electrical equipment malfunctioning and lights blowing out.

* May have awareness of other dimensions and parallel realities.

* Sexually are very expressive and inventive OR may reject sexuality in boredom or with intention of achieving higher spiritual connection. May explore alternative types of sexuality.

* Seek meaning to their life and understanding about the world May seek this through religion or spirituality, spiritual groups and books, self-help groups and books.

* When they find balance they may become very strong, healthy, happy individuals.

Posting this as a scrap since most of my info was found from various sites (primarily from [link])

This is a long over-due article for :iconindigochildren: to post up in their journal or whatever to really explain what the Indigos are.

Hope it's informative!

hm I remember not too long ago when I touched my mom's dvd player and it shorted :S lol. So many of these things are me, hey no wonder we get along :P I didn't realize how extensive it is though:) Too bad not everyone believes in us or our type then we would have more freedom:( It's no wonder we are often depressed and anti-social.

Yeah, I have a tendency to confuse the heck out of radios! I can walk past them and change the station! It makes it hell to set my own though lol

And yeah.. it would be nice, but it's just not happening yet.. hopefully as we're getting older, it'll at least get better for the next generation aye?

You know I find more than anything I short batteries so I love rechargeables. Even then they don't last long, my laptop, my cell phone gah they need new batteries. Although I must be recharging myself because I have managed to make the rechargeable double A's I have last longer than usual. Oh and the cd player on my mom's old stereo stopped working suddenly :(

indeed!! We do set the way don't we?! Perhaps when the older generations have passed we can have an Indigo world and finally be free:)

All of the non-spiritual characteristics are identical to Attention Deficit Disorder traits :XD: ... are you planning on making this into a less 'scrap' piece, or just letting it stand as is?

I know right? Ooops?

And I don't think so actually.. simply because I had to go searching for all the info to "gather" it.. and beyond piecing it together and grammar naziing the SNOT out of it.. I don't feel like it's actually "my" work.. does that make sense? That or it's just a research paper without any personal commentary..

*shrug* Mostly, that club's been needing some kind of "answer" page for a while so I whipped this up for them.

Yeah that totally makes sense. Well, you've done a great job of piecing it together, for sure! It's cool to come across stuff on DA that isn't prose or poetry every once in a while! :D
