Sat Jan 2, 2010, 8:28 AM

Also, the contest now has a news article! [link] Go give it some favelove so we can spread the word!

So, as I've gotten most of the prizes done for my last contest, I decided to start another one! (I know, I'm a bit of a contest junkie. Oh well!)

Presenting The Matchbox Twenty Madness Contest!

The Concept:
It's come to my attention over the years that I've gotten a ridiculous amount of creative inspiration from the amazing music and lyrics of Matchbox Twenty (and Rob Thomas in his solo guise as well.) That being said, I wanted to see how they might inspire all of you as well!

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to pick one of their multitude of songs and create a work inspired by it! It can be in any media: lit, traditional, digital, artisan crafts...even fanart and fiction are welcome! I want you to let your muse totally run amoc with it!

Deadline
January 1, 2010

Judges
Me for the moment, though I may recruit more later!

The Rules
Entries must be sent to *HiddenCaitastrophe via note titled Contest Entry!

THE CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
BOOK IV … MIKE
BY L. DIANE WOLFE

A prisoner of guilt for so long…

Mike Taylor is the epitome of stability. His family is proud of his academic and athletic achievements at Georgia Tech, and despite the temptations of college life, he has maintained his moral standards.
Yet beneath the peaceful surface, Mike is consumed with guilt, fearing condemnation and rejection. A former girlfriend’s abortion and the intense love he feels for his roommate’s wife constantly remind Mike of his failures. Unable to forget and full of shame, he refuses to forgive himself.
When Danielle enters his life, he realizes he can no longer hide the past. Will she be able to reach him or is Mike past the point of redemption?

:bulletpurple: What is your favorite thing about your speaking engagements and book tours?
:bulletorange:Meeting the people! I love people and speaking gigs and book signings are a great way to meet them. I love the speaking engagements, because it gives me time to get to know some of the attendees.
I also have an opportunity to impart a word of hope. During my talks, it’s like magic sometimes. I’ll watch another human being simply come to life, believing that they can accomplish his or her dreams! That is what I live for – to ignite a spark of enthusiasm in another person.

Spunky's DA Literary Tour Continues!

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 21, 2009, 9:03 AM

Want to win a free copy?! Any Deviant who leaves a comment here in the journal will be entered in the drawing for a copy of “The Circle of Friends, Book III…James.” Follow SpunkOnAStick’s :iconspunkonastick: entire DA tour for several chances to win!

THE CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
BOOK III … JAMES
BY L. DIANE WOLFE

Question - What drew you to writing Teen/Young Adult inspirational fiction?
I didn’t originally see this series as YA. Only after test readers began suggesting the genre did I aim for the YA market. I always envisioned it as inspirational, but not pure Christian. That market is very strict when it comes to content, and I felt it would hinder the stories to leave out key events that changed the character’s lives. I wanted realism! I also wanted the books to reach a wider audience, one that would be impacted by the inspirational nature of my stories.

Haunted by a troubled past…

The future appears bright for James Sheppard. Emerging from a troubled childhood, he is blessed with talent and a good work ethic. Excelling in his classes and at the campus newspaper, James’s goal of editor appears within his grasp.

However, years of abuse and loneliness have dampened his spirit. By the time Maria enters his world, James is nearing the breaking point. Her innocent love slowly fills the void in his life, boosting his confidence and giving him hope.

When a crisis abruptly forces him into adulthood, James is saddled with more responsibility than expected. Struggling to cope with the situation, the past returns to haunt him. Will James find peace before the mistakes of his father destroy him completely?

“This book is very motivating and inspiring! This just tells you how much someone is willing to go for the best in his or her life!! There are so many twists and turns and it can teach you how far you would be willing to go to have the perfect moment.”
- TeensReadToo.com

“I could not put this book down… This was a wonderful book that will make you fall in love with the characters, hurt when they hurt and rejoice when things go their way.”
- Debbie’s World of Books

“It is a study of the depth of the human heart and the choices we make in our lives… Wolfe deftly manages to draw you into the story and makes you care for these characters.”
- The Book Pedler

“Full of friendship, love and true life situations, Circle Of Friends Book III is a recommended read for YA of all ages.”

=SpunkOnAStick is my ridiculously speedy donatory hero today!!! Go show her massive amounts of love!!!

And I've been spending WAY too much time at work attempting to answer Spanish speaking calls lol.

Anyway, my subbie ran out, and honestly considering some bills I had show up this month, I really don't have the extra $30 to get it set up again. So, oh well.

We'll see how long I can last without one lol.

So, how have all of you been?

*So here's a link to the actual news article that the austin paper released if you're interested: [link] *

No really! One of the other offices in our building got hit by like 40 FBI agents and local police yestarday. *boggles* I acutally saw some of them yestarday out in the parking lot. I swear the two I saw weren't much older than me, and frankly I just thought they were wearing the "FBI" t-shirts for fun. Unttttill another older guy walked up and I noticed that he was wearing a gun. Can we say holy shit???

Anyway, it's been mentioned in the Austin newspapers if you want to look it up online. So stinking surreal lol.
